Pelosi Arrives in Damascus for Syria Talks – New York Times
Bush’s policy on Syria is probably flawed. Every other policy of his in the region has just worked out dandy. But still, the Speaker of the House leading a delegation to a country on which the adminstration has decided to take a hardline is unacceptable. Foreign policy has been determined chiefly by the Executive Branch through the Department of State. Underhandedly establishing contact without the consent of the executive is crossing the line.
It’s quite obvious Pelosi is willing to push the limits so that the country will be convinced she’s a good leader and should be elected president in 2012. Pelosi, schmelosi.
