Is the Segway cool? I’d really like to ride one. But, at the same time, I make fun of everyone I see on them. I’m not sure why, it just looks funny to me. For instance, I would respect a cop much less if he zoomed up on a Segway. That’s just weird. Also, look at Mr. Offroad Segway man in the picture. That’s a little over-the-top. It’s not a mountain bike, it’s a Segway.
The lazy factor also comes into play here. People claim it’s just like a bike, which is sort of true. But you pedal a bike. All you do on the Segway is lean. In Houston, I saw a woman walking next to another woman that was on a Segway. They were chatting just like normal. Almost like one person wasn’t gliding along on two wheels wearing a helmet. Her legs had probably already started to atrophy.
Ok, ok. It’s a neat idea. But it doesn’t even have a place for your ipod to dock. Obviously, it’s not that cool.
